First rule is that you must be subscribed at a membership level of either Silver, Gold or Platinum (available plans). There is also a recommendation based on your current traffic data for the best plan for you in the Account settings dashboard.
At the bottom of AuctionReporting ads, you should see the Ads by
referral link (only ads that are more than 200 pixels wide display this referral link). All ads published on your site will contain a reference to your user account so that we can credit you if a new user signs up. You can also choose from our rich selection of affiliate links.
These users who were referred to our site by you can all potentially give you 10% of all of their impressions. Unless they purchase a subscription membership that would always use their CJ PID values, their ads would use your CJ PID values 10% of the time. Even if a user has purchased a subscription, they could potentially have periods of time where the free usage rules apply again. The two main reasons for an account to revert to the free usage model are canceled subscriptions, and accounts that are more than 10 days past due for payment.
You won't see extra impressions in your reports here because the record created in the system is actually associated with the referred publisher's account. You should see added impressions at your CJ account.

The system of referrals does not stop at the first level. If you referred a "first tier" user who publishes ads that refer new "second tier" users to the service, the affililate credit would be 4% of their free usage impressions. At the "third tier", you would be credited with 3% of all of their free usage impressions. Please refer to the free usage model page for the full model.
The example above assumes that each website recruits two sites that use the free usage model. So, it naturally follows that the more exposure your ads have, the more affiliates you can gather.
This system could add up really quickly if you happen to have the ad that gets credit for sending us our first big client.
